Easter Sunday

It is still early, but I have been up a while. I am so excited about today, but also saddened as well. In about an hour and a half I will lead a Sunrise Service to celebrate the miracle of the Resurrection of Christ. This morning the Creative Ministries Department will again present "Alive Forever". Friday night was tremendous! I look forward to seeing it again, and I am trusting we have another full house.

This afternoon I will participate in the funeral service of an 8 year old child of our community. My heart is so burdened for this family. Please pray for them. I am glad that although we sorrow, we do not as those who have no hope. I know this little fellow is with Jesus and because Christ is alive, his family can join him in heaven one day. That is real hope.

May you encounter the risen Lord in a fresh way this Easter!

Don't tell the fire marshal!

What a fantastic service tonight! I have not seen any of the practices for the the drama, "Alive Forever" and did not know what to expect. I was absolutely blown away by the excellent drama and music and lighting. And the power of God was in our place as He used this work as a powerful instrument to touch hearts. Several raised their hands to acknowledge making a new commitment to Christ. Hallelujah!

The ushers and parking attendants really worked a miracle. They packed about 650 people in a building originally meant to hold about 400 (before we knocked some walls out).

If you missed it, you must not this Sunday!. It will bless you and bring your unsaved friends and family.
EVENTS HAPPENING AT OUR PLACE THIS WEEKEND:

  • "ALIVE FOREVER", OUR EASTER DRAMA, FRIDAY, 7:30 PM, SUNDAY, 10:30 AM (preceded by Sunday School at 10:00 AM)
  • SUNRISE SERVICE, 7:00 AM, AT 2221 EMMAUS CHURCH ROAD

I'm glad He lives!

It's been a short night. I encountered two tragedies yesterday, one requiring me to spend several hours with a family that lost their child. The only way we can get through such times is with the help of our Risen Lord.

This Easter season my mind has been on Mary quite a bit, and her encounter with Christ. In her tears she saw Him and met Him and life turned around for her. So many are looking at life right now through their tears. If that is you, I'm glad I can present to you a living Lord. Look up and you will find Him.

I really enjoyed sharing some deeper truths from the Scriptures today about Christ's work on the cross. What was even more special was how the power of the Word touched lives.

I am also so blessed to see the many who make church happen at our place. Thanks Mike and Media team for your help with the videos. The Ushers and Board and Preparers for making the Communion flow smoothly with no distractions. The Creative Ministries Team; I love that song, My Savior Lives! Nursery, SS Teachers, Kids Church workers. I am blessed to be pastor of this great church.

Did you know that we have added another level to Children's Ministries? We had to. We have so many kids (Praise God!). We had to also make more room in the Nursery for more babies. Good problems.

How 'bout them Heels! One more to go.

It's alive!

In keeping with celebrating the Easter season, I have resurrected my blog. It was dead, but now it is alive again. (Are you celebrating?) Anyway, some have asked about it, and I do appreciate that it gives me a chance to communicate.

I hope you are making plans to attend one of our services for the drama, "Alive Forever". Either Friday, April 10 at 7:30 PM or Sunday, April 12 at 10:50 AM. A lot of work is going into this and I am trying to stay out of it so that I can see it for the first time when it is presented to the public.

This Sunday, April 5, we will observe the Lord's Supper. I will finish my series The Biggest Losers. The Biggest Biggest Loser in relation to what Christ did on the cross is the devil himself. I will give you Bible reasons why the cross and Christ' s suffering brought victory over the devil and what that means for us who follow Jesus. I am praying and trusting that you will experience the power of the cross at work in you!
